Amazon Alexa is one of the alternatives of Google Assistant and it’s one of the most used voice assistants. In India, only 10% population of India knows the language English. So if you want to grab a big chunk of the Indian market you need to implement local languages in your product. Google assistant did this few months back and now it’s time for the giant e-commerce Amazon’s Alexa. Well, at a press conference in New Delhi they have announced that Now Alexa can response in Hindi. Bringing support for Hindi to Alexa was in the works for more than a year. Not only that, Alexa can now also understand Hinglish (Hindi in English). So if you gonna ask Alexa “Alexa, India ke capital keya hai?” It gonna response in Hindi. Here in the question the word India is not Hindi, It’s English.
Rohit Prasad, VP and head scientist of Alexa AI at Amazon, said “A lot of how people in India engage with their smartphones and internet services is different from those in the United States. For instance, in India, people often search the name of an actor instead of the singer or the band when they are looking for a particular song”. So if you say “Alexa, Shahrukh Khan ke ganna bajao” Alexa gonna play the Shahrukh Khan’s movie song.
If you want you can puchese Amazon Echo device from amazon to access Amazon Alexa
